Program Description
The MBA-Finance program is a 36 graduate hour program, including the 27 core hours of the MBA program plus nine hours of concentration courses; three of which should be taken as the MBA elective course.
Accelerated BS – MBA – Finance
The combined BS/MBA –Finance program is intended for well-qualified students in the Winthrop undergraduate business program. It is 150 credit hours; 120 undergraduate hours and 36 graduate (27 hours of core courses plus 9 hours of concentration courses) where the programs share six semester hours of 500-level courses.
Undergraduate students pursuing this program must complete an Intent to Pursue Accelerated Program form and a Request to Take Courses for Graduate Credit form prior to registering for two 500-level Finance courses that they would like to share between the MBA and BS degree. Students must have a 3.0 undergraduate GPA at the time these forms are completed. No petitions will be allowed for students to count courses after-the-fact if they fail to complete the Intent to Pursue and Request for Graduate Credit forms prior to taking the two 500- level Finance courses used for both programs. Students are required to consult with their undergraduate adviser to determine which courses should satisfy both degrees.
Undergraduates who pursue this accelerated program will need to apply for admission to the MBA program and meet the same admission criteria as all other applicants. To complete the MBA program the following 9 credit hours need to be completed in addition to the 27 hours of required core courses.
